Additional Guidelines:

  1. Electronic submission abstracts are due on or before Feb. 12, 2007.
  2. The full paper (in electronic submission) is due on or before March 12, 2007.
  3. Graduate students are allowed to submit one paper per mini-conference to the graduate paper competition.
  4. Papers from MA theses or thesis projects are not eligible for this competition. These papers are eligible for consideration on non-competitive panels comprised of undergraduate students, graduate students, and/or faculty.
  5. The paper is to be the single authored original work of the student submitting the paper.
  6. A student whose paper is accepted for presentation may not submit another paper from their graduate work for this competitive paper competition. They may submit additional papers for consideration on non-competitive panels.
  7. All finalists must attend the conference to present their paper in person.
  8. NACC strives to keep the mini-conference affordable for both students and directors. Therefore, all participants, including presenters, are required to register for the mini-conference.
  9. To ensure a blind review process, the document (body of paper and abstract) must remain nameless and affiliationless. Information that in any way identifies the presenter or his or her affiliation may disqualify the proposal from consideration.
  10. Submit the abstract and paper electronically to Kim Cuny at speakingcenter@uncg.edu and indicate in the "subject" line that this is a submission for the Graduate Paper Competition.
