Jenny Southard

Profile

Jenny has worked at The University Speaking Center in various capacities since 2013 and has served as Coordinator of the Speaking Center since 2017. Her primary appointment with the university is as full time lecturer in the Communication Studies Department where she teaches Introduction to Communication Studies (CST 105).

Jenny’s scholarly work is often in the intersection of issues related to the basic communication course, communication centers, and non-traditional student groups.  Jenny’s current research focuses on how faculty utilize the Speaking Center and what value might be added in doing so.  Jenny is known for her frequently changing hair colors and styles. She feels proud to have had many of her former CST 105 students join the Speaking Center.
