Remixing Communication Center Spaces: Pushing the Boundaries of Pedagogy and Practice
Dr. Russell Carpenter

Through this presentation, Dr. Carpenter will explore remixing as a creative approach to designing and envisioning communication center spaces and analyze why current models may not be enough to engage students. Using innovative examples, Dr. Carpenter will outline a studio pedagogy for communication center spaces — especially those that are integrated with classrooms and other learning environments. Finally, Dr. Carpenter will argue that such creative approaches to communication center pedagogies and practices can enhance our programs, from engaging students to incorporating new media as a resource within our spaces.
