The Speaking Center has helped me tremendously in my career. I currently work as a recruiter for CPS Professional Services, a government contractor. When I was at the Speaking Center one of the projects I managed was recruiting new consultants. When I interviewed with CPS Professional Services they wanted to know more about my experiences as a managing consultant for the speaking center. At CPS I place candidates in positions at the Department of Defense, the Federal Aviation Administration, and Homeland Security. I also facilitate training sessions and presentations for government officials and general audiences at CPS.

I always feel prepared because of my time as a consultant and manager at UNCG’s Speaking Center. At every interview, for all the jobs I have gotten since graduating in 2005, the interviewers are always interested in the various different types of experiences I had at the Speaking Center. Getting involved with as many different workshops and projects as possible was key to my success as potential employers think it is intriguing and later find out it is vital to their company’s success.
