Charlotte, Communication Consultant
I had been training in the Speaking Center for about a month, when I was slowly packing up following my shadow hour and ended up hearing a little bit more about the consultants I was surrounded by. Up until that point, I had only known most of the consultants on a more professional level, but that changed when someone came in to cover someone else’s shift. It was amazing how excited and relaxed everyone was talking about the things they do outside of the center and just how much they care to help others. It was well reflected and received upon them by their peers asking questions about their families, self-care, and other essential experiences they are having or have had when they last spoke. I think that moment was the one moment that solidified that I was going to be well cared for, and supported, by all of those consultants I have the pleasure of sharing the work environment with.
