I interact with the public daily, constantly relying on what I learned at UNCG. I regularly utilize my Speaking Center competencies of problem solving, listening, empathy, flexibility, and critical thinking when communicating with citizens, patients, and my crew at Station 18. I am proud to have “the best job in the world,” and I recently celebrated six years cancer free! (BTW, the flames in the photo are part of a controlled burn, set by the Fire Department for training purposes.)
