The time has come to write my own Speaking Center story, and I was hoping it would take longer to get here. They say “time flies when you are having fun,” it truly does. Not a single shift has gone by where I did not “clock out” without a smile on my face. The Speaking Center is such a unique space. My time here has changed my outlook on communication altogether, and it all started in CST 390. My CST 390 course began on a Wednesday on August 21, 2019 at 10:00am. I was incredibly nervous to start this journey, but by 10:03am I no longer felt this way. I was excited and empowered. Not to mention, I now had 9 new best friends going into this journey with me. Having such a supportive group of people was amazing. Our semester together was full of teamwork, unconditional support, group cohesion, laughter and genuine friendship. I could not have asked for a better cohort. Little did I know, the enter Speaking Center family was just as supportive. I am so thankful for the relationships that I have made here and the amazing people that I have had the opportunity to meet. I will cherish these memories for a lifetime.
